DAVENPORT, Wash. — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of 26-year-old Aspen Valdez, whose body was discovered in a Sprague resident’s backyard on March 3, following days of searching after she was reported missing.

According to officials, Valdez was first reported missing on February 26 after she left a family vehicle on foot, reportedly expressing her intention to travel toward Spokane. Her disappearance prompted concern from family members and law enforcement, who began efforts to locate her as the case unfolded across Lincoln County.

Authorities confirmed that her body was later found in a residential backyard in Sprague, prompting an immediate response from investigators and forensic teams. The discovery has since shifted the case from a missing person investigation to a full death inquiry, as officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding her final movements.
