Detectives with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office have arrested two men in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred in Gonzales, Louisiana. Brock Burgess, 21, of Geismar, and Caden Holland, 21, of Prairieville, face multiple charges, including drive-by shooting, illegal use of weapons, two counts of aggravated damage to property, and obstruction of justice.

The incident took place on March 11 at approximately 2:00 a.m. when deputies responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on W. Mill Grove. Upon arrival, officers discovered two vehicles had been struck by bullets. Thankfully, both vehicles were unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Investigators quickly traced the suspect vehicle to Brock Burgess, who was driving during the incident. Caden Holland, identified as the second occupant, is believed to have fired the shots. Authorities say the shooting was targeted, although the motive has not been publicly disclosed.

Arrest warrants were executed promptly, and both Burgess and Holland were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail. Law enforcement officials have emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview potential witnesses to understand the full circumstances of the attack.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward to assist with the investigation. The community is being reminded of the dangers associated with firearms and the commitment of local law enforcement to hold those responsible accountable.
