Authorities in Mason County have launched an intensive manhunt following a tragic double homicide connected to a domestic violence incident in the Hoodsport area on the evening of March 24, 2026. The suspect has been identified as Robert Child, born February 26, 1966. He is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing around 250 pounds, and bald. Law enforcement officials have emphasized that he should be considered armed and dangerous, and under no circumstances should members of the public attempt to approach him.
According to investigators, Child was last seen driving a standard cab Ford dually equipped with a ladder rack. He may also have access to a gray 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 bearing license plate C76622L. Authorities are asking anyone who spots the suspect or either vehicle to immediately call 911 and provide as much detail as possible.
