According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Willbanks was driving an SUV along Alabama Highway 49 when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, resulting in fatal injuries. The devastating accident occurred around 4:00 a.m. on June 20, 2026, approximately three miles south of Dadeville.

Authorities reported that Justin was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash.
