Serious Motorcycle Crash in Plainfield: Jonathan Charron, 39, Critically Injured as Investigation Underway.

 

PLAINFIELD, Conn. — Authorities are investigating a serious motorcycle crash that left a local man critically injured Friday night near the intersection of Plainfield Pike and New Road. The operator has been identified as 39-year-old Jonathan Charron of Plainfield.

According to the Plainfield Police Department, officers were notified around 9:39 p.m. by the Quinebaug Valley Communications Center of a crash in the area. When first responders arrived, they discovered a heavily damaged 2016 Harley-Davidson FLHX motorcycle in a wooded area off the roadway, indicating the severity of the incident.

Charron was located at the scene and initially transported by ambulance to Plainfield Backus Hospital for emergency treatment. Due to the extent of his injuries, he was later airlifted by LIFE STAR helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. As of the latest update from authorities, he remains in critical condition.

Investigators are now working to determine what led to the crash. The case is being handled by the department’s Accident Reconstructionist along with members of the Special Investigations Unit, who are examining evidence from the scene and reviewing all possible factors.

No additional vehicles have been confirmed as involved at this time, and it remains unclear whether speed, road conditions, or other elements contributed to the crash. Officials have not released further details but say the investigation is ongoing.

The incident has raised concern within the community, as residents hope for Charron’s recovery while authorities continue efforts to uncover the cause of the crash.
