His life was one marked by devotion\u2014to his faith, his family, and a lifetime of service that touched countless hearts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"440\" data-end=\"1002\">Born on March 20, 1940, in <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Salt Lake City<\/span><\/span>, Martin was the eldest of five children. After graduating from Olympus High School in 1958, he served eight years in the U.S. Army Reserves, where he developed a deep sense of discipline and duty that guided him throughout his life. Following a 30-month mission in France and Belgium, he met his eternal companion, Genene Ann Fowler. They were married in the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Manti Temple<\/span><\/span> in 1963 and built a life centered on faith, sacrifice, and love while raising six children together.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1004\" data-end=\"1324\">Martin\u2019s passion for learning was evident in all he did. He earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">University of Utah<\/span><\/span> in 1973 and carried that same dedication into his spiritual life. Whether serving as a vice president at Ballard Medical Products or as a bishop, he led with humility and compassion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1326\" data-end=\"1519\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">He is survived by his six children, 36 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
