Authorities in Spartanburg County are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a Simpsonville man Saturday evening. Officials from the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the victim has been identified as Tommy Joe Trujillo, 48.
According to Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger, the coroner’s office was called to Spartanburg Medical Center late Saturday night after Trujillo succumbed to injuries he sustained in the crash. Officials reported that he was pronounced dead at 9:31 p.m. on March 14, 2026.
Investigators say the crash involved a single motorcycle and occurred along Reidville Road near Perry Road in Spartanburg County. Details about what caused the crash have not yet been released, but authorities confirmed that Trujillo was transported from the scene to Spartanburg Medical Center in an attempt to save his life. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he later died from the injuries he sustained.
