Triston Goins Found Dead in Pembroke, Robeson County Investigates Triple Fatality.
PEMBROKE, NC — A shocking discovery has rocked the Robeson County community after 28-year-old Triston Goinswas found dead inside a camper on Melinda Road early Sunday morning. Deputies with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office responded at approximately 6:39 a.m. to 1141 Melinda Rd. after a family member reported two deceased individuals inside the camper. Upon arrival, officers discovered Goins alongside two other victims, confirming a triple fatality.
Goins, a resident of Maxton, was known in the community as a young man with strong ties to friends and family. His death has left loved ones and neighbors grappling with grief and shock as authorities continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
All three victims, including Goins, are being transported to the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death. Sheriff Burnis Wilkins stressed that this incident is not connected to the recent death of Jame P. Lowery, 51, of Pembroke, who passed away on March 9, 2026, and whose preliminary findings indicate no homicide.
The investigation remains active, with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the case to contact the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
Goins’ family and the community now face the difficult task of mourning a life cut tragically short while waiting for answers in this devastating case. His memory will live on in those who knew and loved him.
