Austin Thomas Obituary: 23-Year-Old Brier Hill Man Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on State Highway 37 in Oswegatchie.

The community of Brier Hill and surrounding areas is mourning the tragic loss of Austin Thomas, 23, who lost his life in a devastating motorcycle crash late Saturday night in the Town of Oswegatchie, New York. The fatal collision, which involved Austin’s motorcycle and a passenger vehicle, has left family members, friends, and residents heartbroken as they remember a young man whose life ended far too soon.

According to the New York State Police, troopers were dispatched to the scene of the crash at approximately 10:51 p.m. on June 13 along State Highway 37. Investigators reported that Austin was operating a blue 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was traveling westbound when the motorcycle collided with the rear of a white 2010 Mercury driven by a 56-year-old Ogdensburg woman. Both vehicles were reportedly traveling in the same direction at the time of the incident.

Authorities said the force of the impact ejected Austin from the motorcycle. Emergency medical personnel quickly arrived and immediately began life-saving measures in an effort to save him. Despite their efforts, Austin was pronounced deceased at the scene by the St. Lawrence County coroner.

The crash remains under investigation as state police continue working to determine all factors that contributed to the collision. An autopsy has been scheduled at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center as part of the ongoing investigation.
