Tragic Accident Claims Young Life, Williamston Man Dies Weeks After Skateboard Fall.

Williamston, South Carolina — A heartbreaking loss has struck the community as a 26-year-old man has died weeks after suffering severe injuries in a skateboard accident earlier this month. Authorities confirmed that Troy Adam Link of Williamston succumbed to his injuries on March 24, following a prolonged fight for his life.

According to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore, emergency responders were called to West Main Street on March 9 after a report of a skateboard-related fall. When first responders arrived, they found Link lying in the roadway with serious injuries. He was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital for advanced medical care.

Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Link was unable to recover from the injuries he sustained. Preliminary findings indicate that he had been riding his skateboard along West Main Street when he struck an object in the roadway, causing him to fall and suffer a severe head injury. The coroner’s office has officially ruled the cause of death as traumatic brain injury, with the manner of death classified as accidental.

The tragic incident remains under investigation by both the Anderson County Coroner’s Office and the Williamston Police Department.
