Cumberland River Discovery, Nashville Murder Suspect Darrion Young Found Dead After Weeks on the Run.
A weeks-long manhunt has come to a grim end after Darrion Young, 37, was found dead Monday afternoon along the bank of the Cumberland River in Lyon County. According to Kentucky State Police, authorities received a call around 2 p.m. from an individual on McKinney Road in Kuttawa reporting the discovery of a body.
Responding officers pronounced the individual dead at the scene, later confirming the identity as Young, who had been wanted in connection with the killing of his girlfriend, Kierra Timmons, 26. Investigators with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department had accused Young of strangling Timmons inside his apartment in Antioch, a neighborhood southeast of downtown Nashville.
Timmons was discovered on March 14 during a welfare check, one day after her vehicle was found abandoned on the shoulder of the Interstate 24 Cumberland River bridge. Inside the car, authorities located Young’s driver’s license, raising suspicions that he may have entered the river. Subsequent searches were launched in the area, with additional efforts planned before the discovery of his body.
While the exact cause of Young’s death has not yet been released, state police indicated that foul play is not suspected. An autopsy has been scheduled as investigators work to confirm the circumstances.
The tragic case has left two families devastated, closing a chapter marked by violence, unanswered questions, and profound loss.
