Mason Elliot Marshall, Christin Nicole Woodman, and Infant Son Found Dead in Lancaster House Fire, Cause Still Unknown.
A devastating tragedy has left a community searching for answers after a young family was found dead inside their burning home in Lancaster. Authorities confirmed that Mason Elliot Marshall, 27, his 26-year-old girlfriend Christin Nicole Woodman, and their infant son were discovered unresponsive early Wednesday morning following a destructive house fire.
Fire crews were called to the 600 block of East Fifth Avenue around 1 a.m., where they encountered heavy smoke and intense flames consuming the structure. The severity of the fire made rescue efforts extremely difficult. According to Fire Chief Slade Schultz, the home’s location—situated in a narrow alleyway between Fifth and Sixth avenues—posed additional challenges for firefighters trying to reach and control the blaze.
Despite their efforts, Mason Elliot Marshall, Christin Nicole Woodman, and their young child were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals were rescued from the home alive but suffered injuries; they were treated and later released.
Investigators from both the police department and the coroner’s office are actively working to determine what caused the fire. At this time, no official cause has been identified, leaving many unanswered questions about how such a heartbreaking incident occurred.
The Red Cross is assisting another resident displaced by the fire, as the damage extended beyond the immediate home. As the investigation remains ongoing, the community mourns the loss of a young family whose lives were tragically cut short, while hoping for clarity in the days ahead.
