Devin Dube Accused in Hudson Tragedy, 90-Year-Old Elaine Dube Killed in Brutal Family Attack.
A deeply disturbing case out of Hudson, Massachusetts, has left a community in shock after authorities say a 29-year-old man violently attacked members of his own family, resulting in the death of his 90-year-old grandmother. The suspect, Devin Dube, now faces multiple serious charges, including murder.
According to investigators, the incident unfolded on March 31 at approximately 3:10 p.m., when police received a frantic call from Dube’s sister reporting that he was actively assaulting her with a skateboard. Moments later, a second call alerted authorities that another victim—later identified as Elaine Dube—had also been attacked inside the home.
Police say the violence primarily occurred in a basement apartment where Elaine Dube lived. Authorities allege that Devin Dube struck his grandmother multiple times in the head with a skateboard, causing catastrophic injuries. He then reportedly turned on his father and sister in separate encounters, striking both with the same object. While they sustained injuries to their faces and upper bodies, they survived and were treated for non-life-threatening conditions.
Elaine Dube was rushed to the hospital but later died from her injuries. By the time officers arrived, the suspect had fled. About 45 minutes later, police responded to reports of a man behaving erratically nearby and found Devin Dube hiding inside a van, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Prosecutors revealed that Dube has a history of troubling behavior. A court-appointed psychologist reported he suffers from schizophrenia and was experiencing auditory hallucinations. He has been ordered to undergo a 20-day mental health evaluation as the case proceeds.
