Dayvon Terry, 35, was found dead inside a residence on the unit block of Rhodes Avenue following what investigators believe began as a break-in on Tuesday night. His death has raised numerous unanswered questions, as officials have yet to determine the exact cause or circumstances surrounding his final moments.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, police were alerted at approximately 9:27 p.m. when a caretaker monitoring surveillance cameras reported two armed men inside the property without permission. He was then seen walking through the home and opening the front door for 44-year-old Barry E. Roberts, handing him the weapon upon entry.
The two men were observed moving through the residence, filling trash bags with items, including shoes. A responding officer was seen approaching the front door shortly after, but the timeline then jumps forward several hours.
