BROWNSVILLE, Texas — Thirty-nine-year-old Germán Navarro Lopez and 38-year-old Seshly Abigail Sosa were found dead inside a Brownsville hotel room Thursday afternoon, and authorities are investigating the case as a possible murder-suicide, according to the Brownsville Police Department.
Officers responded around 12:34 p.m. on May 28 to the Holiday Inn located on Sunrise Boulevard after hotel employees reported discovering a man and woman unresponsive inside one of the guest rooms. Upon arrival, investigators confirmed that both individuals were deceased and had suffered apparent gunshot wounds to the head.
Authorities said a firearm was recovered from the room and has been collected as evidence as detectives continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
According to preliminary findings released by investigators, evidence gathered at the scene indicates that Germán Navarro Lopez may have fatally shot Seshly Abigail Sosa before taking his own life. However, police emphasized that the investigation remains active and that all conclusions are preliminary pending further forensic analysis and review of evidence.
