LAS VEGAS, NV — New documents obtained by Channel 13 shed chilling light on the circumstances surrounding the tragic killings of Danaijha Robinson and 18-month-old Nhalani Hiner on Monday, March 2, in Las Vegas. The victims were shot while sitting inside a blue 2014 Hyundai Accent near Victoria Medici and Piazza Tuscano, marking a devastating loss for their families and the community.

Police identified 22-year-old Ziaire Jacob Ham as the suspect, who was arrested the following day, March 3, after a vehicle pursuit in Ogden, Utah. According to the declaration of warrant, Ham allegedly stole a black Mazda SUV in Phoenix, Arizona, earlier that day and drove to his mother’s house in Las Vegas. There, he reportedly got into a heated argument with his mother and her boyfriend, pointing a gun at the boyfriend before leaving the home.

Ham told detectives he believed he was being followed by people with gang affiliations and drove to a residential neighborhood, where he said he saw two cars—a gray car and a blue car. Claiming he approached the blue car’s passenger side and “lit up the car,” Ham admitted to shooting, later realizing a child was inside. He reportedly told investigators, “I didn’t mean to kill that person… I killed a child, I killed a child.”

Robinson was pronounced dead at 9:46 p.m., and Nhalani Hiner at 10:01 p.m., with autopsies confirming gunshot wounds as the cause of death. According to sources, Robinson and the toddler had remained in the parked car while the child’s mother and another woman went to assist a friend during a traffic stop, moments before the shooting occurred.

Ham faces charges including two counts of open murder with a deadly weapon and shooting into an occupied vehicle and is expected to be extradited back to Las Vegas to face justice. Authorities continue to investigate the horrific incident and the sequence of events leading to the killings.
