Authorities in Arcadia, Florida are actively investigating a tragic double homicide after two women were found shot and killed at an apartment complex on Friday. Police have arrested 45-year-old Eric Devon Robinson in connection with the case, which they say appears to be tied to a domestic-related incident. The shocking violence has left the local community unsettled as more details continue to emerge.
According to the Arcadia Police Department, officers were first dispatched at approximately 9:13 a.m. to the Jacaranda Trail Apartments on Hargrave Street following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a woman inside one of the units suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite emergency response efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hours later, at approximately 1:09 p.m., officers were alerted to a second victim at another building within the same apartment complex. The woman was found unresponsive and, like the first victim, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. She was also pronounced dead at the scene, intensifying concerns about the nature and scope of the incident.
One of the victims has been identified as Tanika Summers. Authorities have not yet publicly released the identity of the second victim, pending notification of family members. Investigators are continuing to piece together the sequence of events and the relationship between those involved.
Robinson is currently in custody as law enforcement works to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case. Officials are urging anyone with additional information to come forward as the investigation remains ongoing.
