Missing 70-Year-Old Man Identified as Homicide Victim After Body Found at Construction Site.
ROSHARON, Texas — A missing persons case in Brazoria County has taken a tragic turn after authorities confirmed that a 70-year-old man, Ricardo Garza, is the victim of a homicide following the discovery of his body at a construction site.
According to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were initially dispatched Monday evening to Garza’s home in the 4000 block of County Road 564 after family members grew concerned when they were unable to contact him. Loved ones told investigators that the sudden loss of communication was highly unusual, prompting a welfare check.
When deputies arrived at the residence, officials noted suspicious circumstances that raised immediate concern. Investigators quickly escalated the case, bringing in homicide detectives and forensic teams to process the scene and begin a deeper investigation into Garza’s disappearance.
The search effort soon expanded, with assistance from the volunteer search organization Texas EquuSearch. After days of searching, authorities were led to a construction site near Magnolia Parkway on Wednesday morning. সেখানে, they discovered a deceased man whose body appeared to have been intentionally concealed, intensifying fears of foul play.
On Friday, officials formally identified the victim as Ricardo Garza, confirming the case as a homicide. Investigators have since named 47-year-old Juan German as the primary suspect. Authorities report that German is already in custody on an unrelated charge, and prosecutors are preparing to file a murder charge in connection with Garza’s death.
As the investigation continues, the case has left the community shaken, highlighting the devastating reality behind what first appeared to be a missing person report. Authorities are working to uncover the full circumstances surrounding Garza’s death and bring justice to his family.
