Authorities in Northampton County have identified the 81-year-old woman who was found dead Monday afternoon near Martins Creek in Bangor as Margaret Scherr, a longtime resident of the borough, according to officials.

Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek said Scherr, who lived in the first block of North First Street, collapsed after experiencing a medical event. He confirmed that she was pronounced dead at the scene following the sudden incident.
