BENTON COUNTY, Ark. — A heartbreaking discovery along a rural Arkansas highway has left families, friends, and entire communities mourning the tragic deaths of 26-year-old Kena Donshaie Knapper and 5-year-old Tyler Zane Winston, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Authorities say the pair were found deceased inside a parked vehicle near Old Highway 68 outside Siloam Springs in a case that investigators believe was an apparent murder-suicide.
According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded on Wednesday after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle parked off the highway with two unresponsive individuals inside. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers confirmed that both Knapper and young Tyler had died.
The investigation led authorities to seek assistance from the Arkansas State Medical Examiner. Preliminary findings determined that Tyler Winston’s death was ruled a homicide, while Knapper’s death was ruled a suicide. Officials have stated that the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory is continuing its work and is expected to complete a final written report as the investigation moves forward.
