DeKalb County Tragedy, Lauren Bullis Killed in Random Shooting Spree as Suspect Taken Into Custody.

The DeKalb County community is mourning the tragic and heartbreaking loss of Lauren Bullis, 40, who was killed in a violent and senseless attack while walking her dog on Battle Forest Drive, an incident that has left residents shocked and searching for answers.

Authorities say the violence is linked to a shooting spree involving 26-year-old Olaolukitan Adon Abel, an Atlanta man now in custody following a series of apparently random attacks across DeKalb County and Brookhaven that left two women dead and one man critically injured within hours of each other.

The violence began shortly after 12:50 a.m. outside a Checkers restaurant on Wesley Chapel Road, where a woman was shot multiple times and later died from her injuries.

A second fatal shooting occurred around 6:50 a.m., when Lauren Bullis was shot multiple times and stabbed while walking her dog on Battle Forest Drive, according to police.

Investigators describe the incidents as part of a disturbing pattern of random violence that spread fear throughout multiple neighborhoods in the early morning hours.

Officials confirmed that Abel was taken into custody after an extensive search and is now being questioned in connection with the attacks.

Police continue to investigate possible motives while urging anyone with information to come forward as the community mourns the victims and demands justice for the lives lost and forever changed by the violence that unfolded across DeKalb County in a matter of hours.

Authorities said the investigation remains active as detectives gather evidence across scenes continuing inquiry.
