El Dorado Shooting Tragedy: Markivia Holmes Killed, Ronald Pierce Arrested on Manslaughter Charge.

 

 

The El Dorado community is mourning the loss of Markivia Holmes, 31, who was fatally shot late Wednesday night in a tragic incident that has led to the arrest of Ronald Pierce, 20, according to local authorities. Holmes was found suffering from a gunshot wound after officers responded to reports of a shooting near Main Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on the city’s east side.

 

The El Dorado Police Department received calls regarding a possible shooting at approximately 11:00 p.m. on June 24. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Holmes with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel transported her to Baptist Health Medical Center–El Dorado, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

 

Following the shooting, detectives from the department’s Criminal Investigation Division launched an extensive investigation. Authorities processed the crime scene, gathered evidence, and interviewed witnesses in an effort to determine exactly what occurred in the moments leading up to the deadly encounter.

 

As the investigation progressed, detectives identified Ronald Pierce of El Dorado as the primary suspect. Police located Pierce and took him into custody without incident. He was subsequently booked into the Union County Detention Facility and charged with manslaughter as well as a felony firearm offense.

 

Pierce remains behind bars pending his first court appearance, which is scheduled for June 26 in Union County District Court. Meanwhile, investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The case remains active as authorities work to uncover additional details and seek justice for Markivia Holmes and her grieving loved ones.
