Spokane Valley Stabbing Investigation: Jayde A. Brown Arrested After Violent Attack Leaves Victim Seriously Injured.

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Corporal Mark Gregory reported that Spokane Valley Deputies, Spokane Valley Police Department personnel, Major Crimes Detectives, and local emergency responders continue investigating a violent stabbing incident involving suspect Jayde A. Brown, 34, and an adult male victim whose identity has not been publicly released. Authorities say the case remains active as detectives gather evidence, review witness statements, and reconstruct the events surrounding the June 3, 2026 attack in Spokane Valley.

According to investigators, deputies responded at approximately 1:35 p.m. to the 9300 block of East 1st Avenue after receiving reports that a stabbing victim was being transported to a hospital in a private vehicle. Witnesses reported that the suspect fled the area in a black Chevrolet truck bearing Idaho license plates.

As dispatchers broadcast the information, responding deputies quickly located the suspect vehicle near East Augusta Avenue and North Ella Road. Brown was taken into custody without incident within minutes of the reported assault. He was later booked into the Spokane County Jail on a charge of Assault in the First Degree.

Investigators said Brown denied involvement after being advised of his constitutional rights. During a search of his vehicle, detectives recovered two potential weapons, including a green-handled folding knife and a black fixed-blade knife, which were seized for further forensic examination.

Preliminary findings indicate the victim, witnesses, and suspect knew one another and had gathered to work on a disabled vehicle before the confrontation escalated. Witnesses reported Brown appeared visibly agitated before allegedly stabbing the victim in the neck.

The victim remains in serious but stable condition while receiving medical treatment. Detectives continue reviewing evidence, conducting interviews, and examining additional information as the investigation remains ongoing.
