Faith-Filled Mother Angela Born Killed in Fiery Crash, Family Remembers a Life of Love, Service, and Devotion.
A Kanawha County family is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Angela Born, a 52-year-old mother, wife, and small business owner who was killed in a tragic crash on March 5 in Putnam County, West Virginia. Authorities say the crash occurred on Interstate 64 when a suspect vehicle involved in a police pursuit collided with Born’s vehicle, causing it to burst into flames.
Deputies quickly responded to the scene and managed to pull Angela from the burning car. Despite their desperate efforts to revive her, she sadly died at the scene. The devastating loss has left her husband, John Born, and their six children grieving deeply, though they remain surrounded by extended family and loved ones offering support during this painful time.
Angela and John were the proud owners of Country Road House and Berries, a charming bed-and-breakfast and strawberry farm located just off Kittyhawk Road in Clendenin. Through their business, the couple welcomed visitors from near and far, sharing their passion for healthy, locally grown food and the beauty and history of the region.
Those who knew Angela describe her as a woman of extraordinary kindness and unwavering faith. Her husband John lovingly remembered her as his greatest blessing. “She’s been a blessing to me. She’s my treasure. My heart,” he said.
Angela’s brother, Keith McFarland, also reflected on her deep spiritual devotion and the impact she had on others. He said Angela believed strongly in the power of God’s love and grace and made it her mission to share that message with everyone she met.
To her family, friends, and community, Angela Born was truly one of a kind—an irreplaceable soul whose compassion and faith touched countless lives.
