The community of Winnsboro and surrounding areas is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Linda Huff, 79, whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 867 near Highway 868 in Baskin, Louisiana, on the evening of June 9, 2026.
According to Louisiana State Police Troop F, Linda Huff was driving a 2025 Toyota Crown eastbound on Louisiana Highway 867 shortly before 7:00 p.m. when, for reasons still under investigation, her vehicle crossed the centerline, traveled off the left side of the roadway, and struck a tree. Despite being properly restrained, Huff suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A juvenile passenger who was also properly restrained sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
