MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Family members have identified the victim of a tragic motorcycle crash in Milwaukee as Donnetta “Nettie” Flowers, affectionately known by many as “Short Stuff.” Flowers lost her life Sunday morning in a fatal single-vehicle motorcycle accident that temporarily shut down a major section of the Marquette Interchange, one of the busiest transportation hubs in southeastern Wisconsin.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on June 14 along the transition ramp from Interstate 94 eastbound to Interstate 43 northbound. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene after reports of a motorcycle crash within the interchange. Despite efforts by first responders, Flowers was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the incident.
The crash prompted authorities to close portions of the freeway interchange while investigators examined the scene and worked to determine exactly what led to the deadly collision. Traffic in the area was significantly impacted for several hours before the roadway was eventually reopened to motorists.
At this time, investigators have not released details regarding the circumstances that caused the motorcycle to crash. Officials have only confirmed that no other vehicles were involved, making it a single-vehicle incident. The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate and has not yet announced whether speed, road conditions, mechanical issues, or any other factors may have contributed to the tragedy.
News of Flowers’ passing has left family members, friends, and loved ones devastated. Tributes have begun appearing on social media, where many remembered her as a vibrant, caring, and unforgettable presence who touched countless lives. Those who knew her say her nickname, “Short Stuff,” reflected the warmth and affection she inspired among friends and family.
