Deadly Olivehurst Shooting,Victim Identified and Two Arrested Following March 20 Incident.
The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the man tragically killed in a shooting that took place last week in Olivehurst. Deputies were dispatched on the night of March 20 to a residence along 6th Avenue after receiving reports of a verbal altercation at a gathering. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, 30-year-old Benito Valle, a resident of Olivehurst, was rushed to Adventist Health and Rideout for emergency care, but despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Authorities immediately launched an investigation into the fatal incident.
During their inquiry, detectives canvassed the neighborhood, spoke with witnesses, and examined the scene for evidence. Their investigation led to the identification of vehicles connected to potential suspects, ultimately resulting in the arrest of 21-year-old Adrian Vega of Yuba City and 24-year-old Namee Najarro of Marysville. Both individuals have been booked on multiple charges, including homicide, assault with a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and carrying a loaded firearm.
The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that the investigation remains active. Detectives are continuing efforts to determine if any additional suspects were involved in the shooting and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The community is left grappling with the tragedy as authorities work to ensure justice is served.
