BEAUMONT, TX — A fatal shooting in a west end neighborhood has taken a new turn as authorities identify a second suspect and issue a murder warrant in connection with the death of 31-year-old Joseph Manuel. The Beaumont Police Department confirmed that the investigation remains active, with the possibility of additional arrests.

Officers were initially dispatched to the 1900 block of Rafes Way around 7:45 a.m. on March 24 after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered Manuel inside a residence with fatal injuries. The scene quickly became the focus of an intensive investigation as detectives worked to uncover what led to the deadly incident.

Using surveillance footage, witness accounts, and advanced technology, including citywide license plate readers, investigators tracked down a vehicle believed to be connected to the case. This led officers to the 5400 block of Pine Street, where 17-year-old Bryson Parkerson of Beaumont was taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with tampering with evidence in relation to the homicide.

As the investigation progressed, detectives identified 24-year-old Corey Comeaux as another suspect. Authorities have since issued a warrant for his arrest on a charge of murder. Police believe more individuals may have been involved, and additional charges are expected as new evidence comes to light.

Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing that even the smallest detail could be critical. As the case unfolds, the Beaumont community mourns the loss of Joseph Manuel while awaiting justice in a case that continues to develop.
