Fox Lake Child Abuse Case, Mother and Boyfriend Charged After Injured 11-Year-Old Found Wandering Alone.

Authorities in Lake County have filed serious child abuse charges against a mother and her boyfriend after an 11-year-old boy was discovered wandering alone with visible injuries in a suburban neighborhood Friday morning. The alarming discovery has sparked an extensive investigation by local police and child protection officials.

According to police, officers responded around 9:30 a.m. to the area of Fox Lake near Nippersink Boulevard and Grand Avenue after a local business employee reported seeing a child wearing only underwear with blood on his face. The witness also observed welts, bruises, and scratches covering the boy’s body, prompting an immediate call to authorities.

When officers arrived, they met with the employee and the injured child. The boy was quickly taken into protective custody and transported to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital for a medical evaluation.

Investigators then went to the child’s residence in the 30 block of East Grand Avenue, where they encountered the boy’s mother, Pricilla Marshall, 34. She was taken into custody at the scene. Police also discovered two younger children, ages 1 and 2, inside the home who appeared unharmed but were also placed in protective custody.

Authorities later learned that two additional brothers were at school at the time. All five children were transported to the Lake County Child Advocacy Center for medical evaluations and forensic interviews before being placed temporarily with an extended family member.

Police say the investigation revealed the 11-year-old had endured years of abuse from Marshall and her boyfriend, Cody Marion, 35. After the interviews were completed, officers returned to the home and arrested Marion as the investigation continues. 🚨
