Deadly Sunday Morning Shooting: One Man Killed, Three Injured in Mount Pleasant Incident

Authorities have identified 33-year-old Gage Duane Gersema as the man who was fatally shot during a violent incident early Sunday morning on North 11th Avenue in Mount Pleasant. The shooting, which also left three other individuals injured, has shaken the local community and prompted an active investigation by law enforcement officials.

According to police reports, officers responded to emergency calls reporting gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered Gersema suffering from critical injuries. Despite efforts by first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Three additional victims were transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Authorities have indicated that their injuries, while serious, are not believed to be life-threatening.

In connection with the shooting, 29-year-old Allen James Hart, also of Mount Pleasant, was taken into custody. He has been arrested and is currently facing charges related to the incident.
