A devastating ATV rollover in Alaska’s Mat-Su Valley claimed the life of young Brielle and left three other juveniles injured, while 32-year-old Wasilla resident Hannah Lebel was arrested following the incident. The tragic crash occurred Thursday evening in the Jim Creek Recreation Area and has left families, friends, and community members mourning a young life lost far too soon.
According to Alaska State Troopers, the incident was reported around 6:30 p.m. when a side-by-side vehicle driven by Hannah Lebel rolled over onto its roof while carrying four juveniles. Emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving reports of injuries. Bystanders immediately began providing life-saving assistance to Brielle before first responders arrived. Despite the efforts of everyone involved, she was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
The three other juveniles riding in the vehicle were transported to a Mat-Su area hospital. Authorities said their injuries were not considered life-threatening, and they received medical treatment following the crash.
As troopers investigated the rollover, they reportedly observed signs of impairment from the driver. Authorities later determined that Lebel was intoxicated at the time of the incident. She was subsequently taken into custody and charged with criminally negligent homicide, manslaughter, assault, and driving under the influence.
The tragedy has sparked an outpouring of grief throughout the community, particularly as it occurred during the week leading up to Father’s Day. As the investigation continues, loved ones are remembering Brielle and mourning the loss of a child whose future was filled with promise. Her passing serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the consequences that can follow impaired driving.
