Shreveport Tragedy, Community Mourns the Sudden Death of Ricky Evans.
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — A wave of sorrow has swept through the community following the unexpected death of William Richard Evans III, widely known as Ricky Evans. On the night of March 30, his brother, Austin Evans, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, leaving friends, family, and loved ones in shock and grief.
According to Austin, Ricky was found dead earlier that day. The Shreveport Police Department later confirmed that officers responded to a call around 5 p.m. on March 30. Evans was discovered near the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Marshall Street by a passerby who noticed he was unconscious and not breathing. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but tragically, he could not be revived.
Authorities have indicated that a drug overdose is suspected; however, officials stress that this has not yet been confirmed. The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office is expected to conduct further examinations to determine the official cause of death. At this time, police say there is no evidence to suggest foul play was involved.
