Authorities have confirmed the heartbreaking discovery of 32-year-old Eric Fernando Gutiérrez Molina, a U.S.-based flight attendant whose body was found in Colombia after he vanished during a layover. On March 30, 2026, officials announced that a body recovered in the Antioquia region—between the municipalities of Jericó and Puente Iglesias—had been positively identified as Gutiérrez Molina. His remains had been discovered days earlier on March 28 and transported for formal identification before confirmation was made to his family.

Gutiérrez Molina, who was based in Texas and worked for American Airlines, was last seen in Itagüí while out with colleagues.
