The Meade County community is grappling with the aftermath of a devastating crash that claimed the life of 34-year-old Dustin Farmer of Central, Indiana, and left 25-year-old Maia Fisher of Mansfield, Missouri, along with two juvenile passengers, seriously injured. The tragic collision occurred Friday afternoon and has left families, friends, and loved ones mourning a sudden loss while praying for the recovery of those who survived.
According to Kentucky State Police, troopers were dispatched at approximately 3:27 p.m. to the scene of a serious collision on Bypass Road near High Street in Meade County. Preliminary findings indicate that a 2017 Subaru WRX driven by Dustin Farmer was traveling northbound when it crossed into the center turn lane and collided head-on with a 2015 Ford F-150 driven by Maia Fisher.
The impact of the crash was severe. Emergency responders rushed to the scene and worked quickly to assist those involved. Tragically, Dustin Farmer sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Meade County Coroner.
Maia Fisher suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to UofL Hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities also reported that two juveniles traveling in the Ford F-150 were seriously injured. The children were transported to Norton Children’s Hospital and UofL Hospital for medical care.
