South St. Louis Tragedy: Pierre Leech Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash as Police Search for Driver Who Fled the Scene.

The St. Louis community is mourning the tragic loss of 27-year-old Pierre Leech, whose life was cut short Friday night in a devastating hit-and-run crash along Gravois Avenue in south St. Louis. Family members, friends, and loved ones are now left grieving an unimaginable loss as authorities continue their search for the driver who allegedly struck Leech and fled the scene.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the fatal incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of Gravois Avenue in the Tower Grove East neighborhood. Investigators say Pierre Leech was crossing Gravois Avenue when he stopped in the center turn lane.

Police reported that an unidentified driver operating a white vehicle was traveling eastbound in the center turn lane when the vehicle struck Leech. Rather than stopping to render aid or remain at the scene, authorities say the driver fled immediately after the collision.

The impact threw Leech into the westbound lanes of traffic, where he was subsequently struck by a black Toyota Corolla. Officials stated that the Corolla driver remained at the scene and has been fully cooperative with investigators throughout the ongoing investigation.

Despite emergency response efforts, Pierre Leech suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased following the collision.

The heartbreaking circumstances surrounding his death have left many in the community saddened and searching for answers. Friends and loved ones remember Pierre as more than a victim in a tragic accident. He was a son, friend, family member, and valued member of the community whose life touched those around him.

As investigators work to identify and locate the driver of the white vehicle, authorities are urging anyone with information about the crash to come forward. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate the case and hopes public assistance may help bring accountability and answers to Pierre Leech’s grieving loved ones.
