BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Horrific details have emerged in a deadly shooting that left four people dead in the Bayville section of Berkeley Township Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. and was captured on a home security Ring camera, providing a chilling look at the events that unfolded.

Authorities confirmed the deaths of 61-year-old Allan Russell, his 60-year-old wife Michelle Russell, and their 38-year-old daughter Deonna Stewart. The shooter has been identified as 37-year-old Vaughn Stewart of Maplewood, Deonna’s husband. The couple was reportedly separated at the time.

According to police, Vaughn Stewart entered the Russell home and shot Allan and Michelle Russell, then pursued Deonna outside. He fired multiple rounds, fatally striking her about 50 yards from the home. Following the attack, Stewart returned inside the residence and shot himself as officers were arriving on the scene.

Neighbors reported being awakened by at least eight gunshots, leaving the community in shock and fear. Police confirmed that three minor children were present in the home at the time. They were unharmed and are now in protective custody, receiving support from authorities and child welfare services.

The tragedy has left the Berkeley Township community reeling as law enforcement continues to investigate the motive and sequence of events. Officials emphasized the importance of community support and mental health resources for those affected by the violent incident.
