The Clovis community is mourning the tragic loss of Daniel Dale Flores, 43, while authorities continue their investigation into the fatal shooting that claimed his life. Police have arrested Andrew Robles, 41, of Clovis, in connection with the homicide, bringing a significant development to a case that has shaken residents across the city. As family and friends remember Flores, many are hoping the arrest marks the beginning of the path toward justice.
According to the Clovis Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting near 14th and Pile Streets at approximately 4:20 p.m. on May 29, 2026. When first responders arrived, they found Flores suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the Church of Christ at 1521 Pile Street. Despite extensive efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say surveillance footage was instrumental in identifying a suspect. The video reportedly showed two men riding bicycles before one individual followed Flores into the church parking lot. Authorities allege the suspect produced a handgun and fired at Flores, causing him to fall from his bicycle before fleeing the area.
Following an extensive investigation involving the Major Crimes Unit, police arrested Robles and charged him with First-Degree Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Tampering with Evidence.
