An urgent AMBER Alert has been activated for 6-year-old Kiara Hsieh as authorities search for her and James Dean Ramirez, 36, who has been charged with kidnapping in connection with her alleged abduction. Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office launched an intensive investigation after Ramirez, who is not Kiara’s biological father, allegedly failed to return the child to her mother, prompting law enforcement to issue the alert and mobilize resources across the region.
Investigators with Constable Herman’s Special Victims Unit have filed kidnapping charges against Ramirez and are working alongside federal partners to locate both him and Kiara as quickly and safely as possible. Authorities believe Ramirez was last known to be in the Galveston County area and may be traveling in a brown Ford Explorer.
Law enforcement officials continue to follow multiple leads and are urging the public to remain alert. The safety and well-being of Kiara Hsieh remain the top priority as investigators work around the clock to bring her home safely and hold those responsible accountable.
“We are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Kiara Hsieh or James Dean Ramirez to immediately contact 911 or their local law enforcement agency,” said Constable Mark Herman.
Officials stress that public awareness can be critical in missing child cases. Anyone who believes they may have seen Kiara or Ramirez should not approach them but should immediately notify law enforcement. Every tip, no matter how small, could help investigators locate the child and ensure her safe return.
