Diamond Puebla Killed in Corpus Christi Rollover Crash; Investigation Continues Into Driver’s Role.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Diamond Puebla, 38, was killed after being ejected from a vehicle during a rollover crash on a State Highway 358 flyover in Corpus Christi early Thursday morning. Authorities have identified Puebla as the victim, while the name of the driver, who could potentially face scrutiny as the investigation progresses, has not been released by the Corpus Christi Police Department. No criminal charges have been filed, and police have not identified any suspect in connection with the crash at this time.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 2:37 a.m. on the elevated connector ramp linking westbound State Highway 358 (South Padre Island Drive) to northbound State Highway 286 (Crosstown Expressway). According to preliminary findings, a single vehicle traveling on the flyover struck a concrete barrier before overturning.

Puebla was riding as a passenger when the vehicle rolled over. During the crash, she was ejected from the vehicle and suffered critical injuries. Emergency responders arrived quickly and provided medical aid before transporting her to a local hospital. Despite extensive lifesaving efforts, she later died from her injuries.

Investigators have not disclosed whether Puebla was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The driver survived and remained at the scene while officers began their investigation.

Authorities are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision, including vehicle speed, roadway conditions, and other possible contributing factors. Police have not announced whether alcohol, drugs, or impairment are suspected.
