Fleetwood Tragedy Update, E-Bike Rider Stuart McBride Dies Weeks After Collision on Brock Avenue.

A tragic update has emerged following a collision involving an electric bike in Fleetwood last month, as authorities confirmed that the rider, 50-year-old Stuart McBride, has died from injuries sustained in the incident. The news has deeply saddened the local community, which had been hoping for his recovery since the crash occurred in early February.

Police were first called at approximately 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, to Brock Avenue in Fleetwood after reports of a collision. When officers arrived at the scene, they determined that an e-bike had struck an unoccupied parked car. The rider had been thrown from the bike during the impact and suffered serious head and leg injuries.

Emergency responders quickly transported McBride to the hospital, where he remained under medical care for several weeks. Despite efforts by medical staff, he sadly passed away on March 4 as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash.

Sergeant Ben Elliott of the Roads Policing Unit expressed condolences to McBride’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. He also acknowledged the strong support provided by the Fleetwood community during the ongoing investigation.

Authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing for additional witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area to come forward. Investigators noted that the e-bike involved in the collision was removed from the scene before emergency services arrived. Police believe the bike was black and purple and are urging the person who took it to contact them.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting log 1148 of February 3, or email the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
