A tragic late-night motorcycle crash in Adams County has claimed the life of 65-year-old Anthony P. Evans of Stout, Ohio. According to the Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Evans was involved in a fatal single-vehicle accident on Friday, June 5, 2026, along US Route 52 near mile marker 25 in Green Township.
Authorities reported that the crash occurred at approximately 11:41 p.m. Preliminary findings indicate that Evans was operating a 1997 Suzuki Intruder 800 eastbound on US Route 52 when a deer suddenly entered the roadway. The motorcycle struck the animal, causing a devastating collision that left Evans with fatal injuries.
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene, but despite their efforts, Evans was pronounced deceased at the location by emergency medical personnel. Investigators also noted that he was not wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the crash.
The incident serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the dangers motorists, particularly motorcyclists, can face when traveling rural highways at night. Wildlife-related crashes remain a significant concern across Ohio, especially during periods when deer are most active near roadways. Even experienced riders can find themselves with little time to react when an animal unexpectedly crosses their path.
Multiple agencies assisted with the response and investigation, including the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Manchester Fire and EMS, Adams County EMS, the Adams County Coroner’s Office, and Scott & Comb’s Towing. Their coordinated efforts helped secure the area and begin the process of determining the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
As family members, friends, and members of the Stout community mourn this sudden loss, many are remembering Anthony P. Evans as a man whose life ended far too soon in a tragic and unforeseen accident. His passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. While investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, the community pauses to honor his memory and extend condolences to his family during this difficult time.
