The Pittsfield Township community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of John Frick, a 23-year-old Saline resident whose life was tragically cut short following a fatal crash on the night of Saturday, June 20, 2026. Family members, friends, and neighbors are remembering John as a young man whose presence brought warmth, kindness, and promise to those around him.
According to the Pittsfield Township Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. near South Maple Road and Travis Pointe Road. Authorities reported that John was crossing the roadway eastbound when he was struck by a vehicle traveling north. Emergency responders from the Pittsfield Township Police and Fire Departments arrived quickly and immediately began lifesaving efforts. Despite their best attempts, John sadly succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Investigators stated that the vehicle was operated by a 90-year-old Ann Arbor resident who was not injured. Preliminary findings indicate that neither alcohol nor excessive speed appeared to be factors in the crash. Officials are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, while awaiting additional findings from the Washtenaw County Medical Examiner’s Office.
