TREMPEALEAU COUNTY, Wis. — The hearts of many are heavy following the tragic loss of Amber L. Shovald, a 42-year-old Eau Claire resident who lost her life in a devastating two-vehicle crash in Trempealeau County during the early morning hours of Saturday, June 13.
According to the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred around 4:58 a.m. on State Road 93, just north of Fox Coulee Lane. Investigators reported that an SUV traveling south struck a deer, causing the driver to lose control and cross into the northbound lane, where it collided with an oncoming pickup truck. Amber, who was a passenger in the SUV, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Today, family, friends, and all who knew Amber are mourning a life taken far too soon. While the details of the crash continue to be investigated, those closest to her are choosing to remember the kindness, warmth, and love she shared throughout her life. Her presence touched many, and her memory will remain in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
The driver of the SUV, Maidao Yang, and the driver of the pickup truck, Aleck J. Lehnartz, were both airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
As loved ones grieve this unimaginable loss, they also celebrate the life Amber lived and the memories she leaves behind. Though her journey ended unexpectedly, her impact will endure through the countless lives she touched.
