Salisbury Collision Tragedy, Kharon Webster, 77, Dies Following Route 50 Crash.
SALISBURY — The Salisbury Police Department has confirmed that 77-year-old Kharon Webster was the victim who died following a serious two-vehicle crash on April 11 along Route 50 at the intersection of Hobbs Road, a collision that has prompted an ongoing advanced investigation.
According to officials, the crash took place around 5:29 p.m. when officers responded to reports of a major motor vehicle collision involving two heavily damaged vehicles. Upon arrival, Salisbury Police, along with Salisbury Fire and EMS personnel, found the scene with multiple occupants already receiving emergency care.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 2018 Jeep Compass was traveling northbound on Hobbs Road and attempting to cross Route 50 when it collided with a 2017 Toyota Sienna traveling westbound. The impact caused severe damage to both vehicles, leaving several people injured and requiring urgent medical transport to Tidal Health Peninsula Regional.
Authorities confirmed that there were two occupants in the Toyota Sienna and three in the Jeep Compass. Despite efforts by medical teams, Kharon Webster, who was a passenger in the Jeep Compass, later died at the hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash.
The Salisbury Police Department continues to conduct an Advanced Crash Investigation to determine the exact sequence of events and any contributing factors. Officials are reviewing physical evidence, roadway conditions, and vehicle data as part of the ongoing inquiry.
