Shatariea Shine, a 40-year-old resident of Minden, lost her life early Monday morning following a single-vehicle crash near Shreveport, according to the Louisiana State Police. The fatal incident occurred around 8 a.m. on May 25 along U.S. Highway 80, near W J Beck Road.
Preliminary findings from investigators indicate that Shine was traveling eastbound on the highway when, for reasons still under investigation, her vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but the impact proved fatal. Shine was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities reported that Shine was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, a factor that may have contributed to the severity of her injuries. While the exact cause of the crash remains unclear, officials are continuing to examine all possible contributing circumstances, including road conditions, vehicle factors, and driver-related elements.
The tragic loss of Shatariea Shine has left her family, friends, and community in mourning. Her sudden passing serves as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety measures, particularly the use of seatbelts, which can significantly reduce the risk of fatal injuries in crashes.
The Louisiana State Police have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and additional details may be released as they become available. In the meantime, authorities are urging motorists to remain cautious and prioritize safety at all times while traveling.
