Josh Scribben of Cornelius, North Carolina, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 40 following a medical emergency while kayaking on Lake Norman. Born on June 7, 1985, in Roaming Shores, Ohio, Josh lived a life defined by compassion, humor, and an unwavering love for his family.
He is survived by his wife Michelle, his partner of 20 years, and their beloved one-year-old son, Kole—who was the center of Josh’s world. He is also survived by his mother, Rosemary Zygmunt Scribben; his in-laws, Frank and Lori Palcsik; his sister Amy and her husband Jon Snyder, along with their children; his half-brother Jeremy Scribben; his sister-in-law Amber and her husband Steve Bourbonnais and their children; and his grandmothers, Helen Zygmunt and Marie Scribben. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Scribben Jr., his brother Jason Scribben, and his grandparents.
Josh was a dedicated physical therapist who earned his doctorate and devoted his career to helping others heal. His patients knew him not only for his skill but for his genuine care and encouragement. Outside of work, he loved fishing, jet skiing, sports, and sharing laughter with those around him. A passionate fan of Cleveland sports, his energy was contagious and unforgettable.
Above all, Josh treasured his family. Becoming a father brought him immense joy, and he worked tirelessly to build a loving life for his son. His legacy of kindness, humor, and devotion will live on in all who knew him.
