Deadly Shooting in St. Lucy, Romario Archer Identified as Victim as Nine Others Injured in Fryers Well Attack
ST. LUCY, BARBADOS — Authorities have identified Romario Archer, 28, of Pie Corner, St. Lucy, as the man who lost his life in a violent shooting at Fryers Well, Checker Hall on Sunday night. The tragic incident has left the community shaken and several others recovering from injuries.
Preliminary investigations reveal that a group of people had gathered at a bar for a karaoke lime around 10:50 p.m. when a dark-colored motorcar drove past the location. Occupants of the vehicle reportedly opened fire, discharging multiple gunshots into the crowd. Panic quickly spread as people scrambled for safety in what should have been a relaxed and social evening.
Archer was among those critically injured and was transported to a private medical facility, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Nine other individuals were also wounded during the attack and were rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
The Barbados Police Service, particularly officers from the Crab Hill Station, have launched an active investigation into the shooting. Authorities are working to determine the motive behind the attack and to identify those responsible.
