Remembering Ashley Kittelson,  A Devoted Mother, Nurse, and Victim of Intimate Partner Violence.

We remember Ashley Kittelson, whose life was tragically taken on March 6, 2026, in International Falls. At just 35 years old, Ashley became Minnesota’s third confirmed victim of intimate partner homicide in 2026, a heartbreaking reminder of the devastating impact of domestic violence.

Authorities say Ashley was shot and killed inside her home by her husband, Nicholas Kittelson, 44, who then died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The tragedy was discovered early that morning when a deputy on routine patrol noticed a vehicle running in the driveway of Ashley’s home and recognized that there was an active protection order involving the vehicle’s owner and Ashley. When attempts to contact anyone inside failed, officers entered the residence and found both individuals deceased.

Court records show that Ashley had recently filed an emergency protection order describing a history of abuse, including threats against her life and incidents where Nicholas allegedly assaulted her and even put a gun to her head. Despite multiple violations of that order and related charges, he had been released from jail just days before the fatal shooting.

Beyond the tragic circumstances of her death, Ashley is remembered by those who knew her as a compassionate nurse and a loving mother of three young children. Friends and loved ones say she dedicated her life to caring for others, both in her work and in the unwavering love she gave her family.

Her passing has shaken the community and left a profound loss for her children, family, and friends. As we remember Ashley Kittelson, we also remember the importance of speaking out against domestic violence and supporting those who may be living in silence and fear.

Justice After Decades of Abuse: Mother of Ten Jailed for Enslaving Teenage Girl for 25 Years.

Justice After Decades of Abuse, Mother of Ten Jailed for Enslaving Teenage Girl for 25 Years.

A mother-of-ten has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after a court heard how she subjected a teenage girl to decades of abuse, forced labor, and captivity in her home. Amanda Wixon, 56, was convicted following a trial at Gloucester Crown Court for crimes that spanned more than two decades.

The victim, whose identity remains protected, was just 16 years old when she moved into Wixon’s home in 1995. What followed, prosecutors said, was 25 years of exploitation and violence inside the family’s overcrowded and neglected house in Tewkesbury. The court heard that the property in the Priors Park area was in a squalid condition, with mould-covered walls, damaged plaster, and rubbish filling the garden.

According to evidence presented during the trial, the woman endured repeated physical assaults, including being beaten and struck with a broom handle so severely that it knocked out some of her teeth. She remained trapped in the home until 2021. Today, the survivor—now in her mid-40s—refers to Wixon as “The Witch,” a reflection of the trauma she endured.

While delivering the sentence, Ian Lawrie KC told the court that Wixon had shown “permanent denial” about the devastating impact of her actions. He described the crimes as persistent and cruel, noting the victim had effectively been held captive from her teenage years into her early forties.

In a powerful statement read in court, the survivor described living “in fear, control and abuse” for a quarter of a century. Now living with a supportive family, she says their kindness is helping her slowly rebuild the life that was taken from her, even as the trauma of those lost years remains.

Pulaski County Investigation Expands, Additional Charges Filed Against Kimberly Bray in Ongoing Child Abuse Case.

Sheriff Bobby Jones has announced additional charges in an ongoing sexual abuse investigation involving a Pulaski County woman, following the identification of another minor victim. Authorities say the case continues to develop as investigators gather more information related to multiple allegations.

Kimberly Bray, 45, of Bronston, Kentucky, was formally served with a new warrant on Wednesday, March 11, in connection with a second incident involving the sexual assault of a child. Bray is already being held at the Pulaski County Detention Center as part of a separate but related investigation. She was initially being held on a $500,000 bond, and the newly filed charge of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree involving a victim under the age of twelve carries an additional $100,000 bond.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began in January when Detective Jay Picard, who works with the Crimes Against Children unit, received information alleging that Bray had sexually assaulted two minor female victims in 2017. After months of investigation and the collection of evidence, Detective Picard secured an arrest warrant on December 31, 2025.

Bray was taken into custody the following day, on New Year’s Day 2026, on charges including Rape in the First Degree involving a victim under twelve and Sexual Abuse in the First Degree involving a victim under twelve.

During the continued investigation, authorities identified an additional minor male victim, leading to the new charge filed this week.

Detective Picard was assisted in the investigation by Deputy Noah Wesley, Deputy Zachary Huff, other members of the Criminal Investigation Division, and the Department for Community Based Services. Officials say all evidence gathered in the cases will be presented to the Pulaski County Grand Jury for further review.

The arrest follows an intensive investigation that began late Tuesday night after officers discovered Stewart unresponsive in the backyard of a residence on the city’s southwest side.

According to police, officers from the IMPD Southwest District were dispatched at approximately 11 p.m. on March 10, 2026, to the 1300 block of South Lynhurst Drive following reports of an unresponsive woman. When officers arrived at the scene, they located Stewart in the backyard of the home with injuries consistent with significant trauma. • Inquest Verdict Delivered: Death of Kyle Samuel at Hanley Winter Wonderland Ruled Suicide An inquest has concluded that the death of 29-year-old Kyle Samuel, who was found hanged at the Hanley Winter Wonderland ice rink in Stoke-on-Trent, was the result of suicide. The heartbreaking case has drawn attention to the personal struggles he faced in the days leading up to his death. According to testimony presented during the inquest, Samuel—who both lived and worked at the popular seasonal attraction—was discovered by a colleague at approximately 9 a.m. on November 11. At the time he was found, he was still alive, prompting an urgent response from emergency services. Paramedics rushed him to Royal Stoke University Hospital, but despite medical efforts, he sadly passed away later that same morning. It later emerged that Samuel had been scheduled to appear in court that day after being charged with making indecent images of children. The impending legal proceedings were described as a major source of stress in the final period of his life. In a witness statement read during the hearing, Samuel’s mother shared emotional details of their final conversation on the evening of November 10. She recalled that her son seemed to be in good spirits and ended the call by telling her he loved her, something she said he often did. She later discovered he had also attempted to contact his grandmother and several friends that same evening. Coroner Daniel Howe determined that Samuel died from hypoxia caused by hanging and concluded that he had intentionally taken his own life. The coroner noted evidence suggesting Samuel had been experiencing low mood and anxiety related to the upcoming court case. The inquest formally recorded a verdict of suicide.

  • Tragic Child Abuse Case: Penn Hills Parents Charged After 3-Year-Old Devin Goodson Found Dead.

Tragic Child Abuse Case: Penn Hills Parents Charged After 3-Year-Old Devin Goodson Found Dead.

Tragic Child Abuse Case, Penn Hills Parents Charged After 3-Year-Old Devin Goodson Found Dead.

A heartbreaking investigation is underway in Penn Hills after a 3-year-old boy was found unresponsive inside a home and later pronounced dead, with authorities revealing the child had suffered severe and repeated abuse. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Devin Goodson, whose death has sparked outrage and sorrow throughout the community.

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Dorothy Drive at approximately 12:43 p.m. Wednesday following a report of a child who was not breathing. First responders arrived quickly and attempted lifesaving efforts before transporting the young boy to a nearby hospital. Despite those efforts, Devin was later pronounced dead.

According to investigators, the child showed clear signs of severe physical abuse. Detectives reported that Devin had suffered multiple bone fractures, including both newly broken bones and others that appeared to be in the process of healing. Authorities say this pattern suggests the injuries occurred over an extended period of time rather than in a single incident.

Following interviews with witnesses and the collection of evidence, police determined that Devin’s mother, 23-year-old Lagomau Malu, allegedly abused the child on multiple occasions. Malu has been charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children and is currently being held at the county jail.

Police later announced that Devin’s father, 22-year-old Adam Chirico, has also been charged in connection with the case. He faces charges of endangering the welfare of children and endangering another person.

The medical examiner is continuing to investigate to determine the official cause and manner of Devin Goodson’s death as authorities pursue justice in this tragic case.
