WEST KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Sections of the Lowmans Hill community are in mourning following the fatal shooting of a young man on the night of March 25. The deceased has been identified as Collis Callie “Brain” Charles, a man in his thirties who residents described as quiet, intelligent, and well respected in the area.

Reports indicate that Charles had just returned to the village earlier that day. Hours later, gunfire shattered the calm of the neighborhood. One resident said they heard approximately five gunshots, while another woman at the scene could be heard crying out in distress as the reality of the situation unfolded.

The motive behind the killing remains unknown, and authorities have not disclosed any information regarding a suspect. The sudden violence has left residents shaken, struggling to understand how someone they knew as peaceful and bright could become the victim of such a crime.

This incident marks the second reported shooting in West Kingstown on the same day. Earlier, a man was found dead with gunshot wounds in the Ottley Hall community, further deepening concerns about safety and rising violence in the area.
