Wichita Falls, TX — A tragic accident in the early morning hours of March 28, 2026, has claimed the life of 19-year-old Jaeden Del Rio following a vehicle rollover near the intersection of Ireland Street and Perigo Street.

According to the Wichita Falls Police Department, officers were dispatched around 1:20 a.m. in response to reports of an injury accident. Upon arriving in the area, officers searched nearby and located the crash scene in a field west of the intersection. There, they found Del Rio unresponsive. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by first responders, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary findings from investigators reveal that Del Rio was with two other adults at the time of the incident. The group had reportedly been taking turns driving a 2016 Jeep Wrangler in the field, performing donuts shortly before the crash occurred. Authorities say that during the incident, Del Rio was riding as a passenger but was positioned dangerously—sitting on the door with his torso hanging out of the vehicle while another individual was driving.

Investigators believe the driver lost control of the Jeep during the maneuver, causing it to roll over multiple times. Del Rio suffered severe injuries as a result of the crash, which ultimately proved fatal.

The loss of such a young life has left family, friends, and the community in mourning. Authorities confirmed that Del Rio’s next of kin have been notified.

As the investigation continues, officials extend their deepest condolences to the Del Rio family during this incredibly difficult time, while also reminding the public of the dangers associated with risky driving behavior.
